To add to my comment. My brother, yes the priest, is also an ER trama nurse, so he sees first hand that women need birth control for medical reasons. Plus he watched me need it for medical reasons. Believe me he is not going to tell me to stop taking the depo shot. He has seen the pain I have gone through. He hates talking about periods and so if I don't have a period he is all for giving me the depo shot. I have a feeling he will be going to confession again for giving out birth control.
There is no slippery slope. The Church says the institutions they fund are not going to pay for contraceptives. There is no next. They don't have to be. Another non-point. This isn't much of a news flash. Non-point hat trick. Not sure if serious. Did you read the mission statements I posted? Catholic institutions exist to provide healthcare and education in concert with Catholic teaching. Paying for contraceptives makes the entities ineffective as it undermines Catholic teaching. They are staffed now. Lots.
So a hospital that is associated with the Catholic church, like here locally in Alexandria would be St. Francis Cabrini, can pass out contraceptives, Doctors prescribe birth control, they see hundreds of new babies born every year, alot I would venture to say out of wedlock, contributing to sin amongst the people, but as long as they are getting paid, it's cool, it's having to pay for one of their employees, that's the issue right? When in doubt, just apply the 5 letter word that starts with an M. $$$$$$$$$ Money even trumps God.
LSUsupafan....Here is your challenge. Name these nun nurses you claim to know. I bet you I can disprove this in 2 mins with one phone call. Hey bro, what's up. I got this dude that claims he knows these nurse nuns. The conversation would go something like that. With much laughter afterwards.
I know none personally, nor did I claim to. Work on your reading comprehension. It is fairly common knowledge that nursing is one of the primary ministries of many religoius orders. About half of the Sisters of the Holy Cross are RNs. A good number of the Sisters of the poor are as well. All of the Sisters of Bon Secour are either nurses or doctors.
really didn't Tiger in NC ask you how many nun nurses do you know to which you replied Lots. I need to work on my reading comprehension skills. refer to post #133 swing and a miss.
his questions was In this case, the word 'of' is the operative word. The ministry, or a portion of the ministry, of many religious orders is to provide healthcare. To effect this ministry many of the members of those organizations work as nurses. So I know 'of' these nurses who are also nuns, but I don't know any of them personally.
you are the world queen champion of making points that are nonsense and then being absurdly combative for no reason. its fun.
