If your son has an offer to go to USC, then why is he still sitting on his hands... they have a pretty good program.

Hey TF03, on behalf of our fans, I think I speak for everyone in saying we want talented kids but talented kids that fit our most immediate needs, first. Sounds like: 1/ Conner is talented 2/ LSU is interested, 3/ Conner is interested in LSU . . . many things point to him being a Tiger, in the end.

It's mighty early buddy, signing day isn't 30 days past yet, RELAX. None of us are against having him, if it's what the coaches desire. I haven't been following recruiting long but have quickly realized it's not just a matter of, "This kid is good, let's give/accept and offer here."

I also don't think any of our fans feel anything less than sick when a Louisiana kid leaves our State to play football elsewhere but it happens and if/when it does, we wish them the best- at least, we should; wasn't the case with McKnight across the board but that was an exception, not the rule.

If he's about "Shining" though, he's in the wrong place. We're about one team and our players share, cause our OC involves MANY players in a win so if that is the case, perhaps he should move on; however, from what I've read, he's handled this confusion quite well and hasn't been crying to the media/recruiting services so that tells me the door is still open- don't phuck it up for him. :thumb:

I guarantee that Conner doesn't end up at USC, because he doesn't have an offer.

I think every one here is in agreement that Conner is very talented, but that doesn't mean he fits in with LSU's needs right now.

If the player is good(D-1 SEC Talent), no baggage and have the grades then 9-10 LSU will offer & sign.

Just like Randle Mackey last year I would've liked him to come to LSU to play any position and he was recruited by all the top schools in the country but behold he had grade issues.

Conner will just have to either have a GREAT season at RB and try to prove to Miles he is the best RB in the state or make a choice does he want to come to LSU and play what ever position they ask or go some where else.

9 out of 10 may be a bit high, but most Louisiana SEC-caliber players will be offered by LSU.

However, every year is different & we recruit based on our needs and what is available. We've apparently got better RBs & LBs available than Conner.

Unfortunately, I don't think Conner gets an offer at all - regardless of position.

NO troll, big time LSU fan. But, I also support my local boys and when I see a cat like Barkevious Mingo get an offer when he hasn't played football for more than a year in his life, and you have a player across the river who is bigger, faster, stronger, and has played football all his life I begin to ask questions and wonder if there are pipleines that teams respect more than best players available. You will not convince me that Mingo is deserving of a scholarship and Conner isn't. I saw both play multiple times last year and Conner was a man among boys in every single game. Not 1 or 2, every one. He played linebacker longer than Mingo and he doesn't have an offer???? I'm mad because I believe the coaching staff is playing the pipeline game and they are more afraid of losing players from West Monroe to Bama' than a player from Ouachita. There is absolutely, positively no reason for Mingo getting an offer over Conner, it makes absolutely no sense. And any sensible West Monroe fan will more than tell you the same. They have seen Conner up close and will tell you everything I just did. That is my main sticking point. You claim that we have better players available????? FREAKING WHO?? I have seen no linebackers and only 2 running backs that you could even remotely say has higher upside or physically more mature. Kevin Minter is the only linebacker I have seen that is even close to the physical freak Conner is and that is just a fact. Tahj Jones, Mingo, and even Ferrell out of Florida physically don't come close to Conner. Just laying down the truth, if you don't like it then fine, but it is the truth not opinion. He is bigger than all these cats except for Minter and he is faster than all of them. To lose him would be a loss, I promise.

This I can agree on. I like 2 specific running backs that I think are better than Conner and that is Eddie Lacy and Hasan Lipscomb. I think Bryce Brown is overrated and actually reminds me of Conner. He plays against poop competition in Kansas and you don't really get a true feel. I like Michael Ford, but I'm not sold. He is good, but I think Lacy, Lipscomb, and Conner are better. But, the coaches thought differently, that is fine. I still think he is a stud and love that we got him. He will fit in great with the style we have. The one thing that conner is not, is that he is not a spread type back. Johnathan Stewart did it at Oregon and that was amazing for a guy his size. Conner is not that guy. He is a linebacker like you say, and if that is so I haven't seen one linebacker except for Minter that I would take over him. His listed weight of 210 is laughable and the News Star already stated that he was 230 like 3 weeks ago. As an LSU fan I can totally understand taking Lipscomb, Lacy, and Ford(somewhat), but when we always complain about not getting top end linebackers I sit here and think, "Why do we bit#$ about not having linebackers and we have one right here but the coaches know best?" What the freak? You think Kellen Theriot played linebacker in high school???

I can confirm with 100% confidence that Conner did receive an offer from USC two weeks ago. He was offered as a RB. Also found out his dad, uncle, and aunts all live in Los Angeles. He is very close in size to our current FB Stanley Havili. It's a position the USC offense uses consistently so I'm wondering if that's his future.
