I'm assuming you haven't seen this kid play. If you haven't then that isn't your fault, but let me tell you this: This kid is physically as close to a Adrian Peterson, Brandon Jacobs back that you will see. His physique, heighth, size, running style. His speed is awesome with power. A can't miss prospect that will dominate in the right system. USC has offered according to him in the article and at running back too. USC has been on him since last year. I know this for a fact. How he is a 3 star on Scout is beyond me. Physically he is on another level than all those other backs. I also have no idea who posts his weight, but it is closer to 230 than 210 or 215.

If you weren't spending so much time on an LSU board instead of your own board you would see that their is an article that says: Montrell Conner: USC on short list. Read it for yourself. I have no idea why they offered him, shoot it isn't like I don't know what goes on at Ouachita or anything. I never thought I'd see the day when Pete would be trying to dig players from my school.

I never said he wasn't a great player and had potential to excel in college football. The fact has been stated over and over again is that we do not have room for a RB and we have pure LBs on our list more highly rated by Miles and recruiting services. We just do not have the leeway this year to accept commitments from guys at a big need position that are considered projects at the LB spots. I nkow you follow this guy closely and is personal to you but yo have to think like a CEO while recruiting. He could be a 5* RB or ATH and I would still come to the same conclusion.

BTW, I have watched film on him and have friends who have followed him closely over the years and they have pointed out similar points to the LSU situation.

Its pretty obvious that Conner, his coach and family are saying the politically correct things. There is no way he wasnt humiliated and embarrassed when he tried to commit and was told no. I still think we take care of people in our backyard and even if some out of state kid is rated slightly better we take the home grown kid in that situation every time.

BTW...I wasn't comparing Dinardo to this situation. Only mentioned him and J.T. Curtis to show how High School coaches can survive quite nicely without steering their kids to LSU and how finicky High School Coaches can be when they perceive the flagship University in State isn't treating their players and fellow coaches properly. Not saying that is happening but you know what I mean.

I agree with all of that.

I can only add that it depends on the situation, would you rather a higher rated pure LB out of state or a project LB with limited expierence in state when we are suffering at the position and very limited scholarships. If Miles made a habit of this it would be a real concern but over one or two classes it doesn't have significant consequences in the long-run, IMO.

I can also mention that I hope it works out for him if he goes elsewhere or room opens up for him at LSU.

The kid says he has no hard feelings, I don't think we necessarily need to be paranoid about the situation.

    What's obvious about that? Maybe it's just....um...you know....the truth.

Our in state kids do get more consideration than out of state kids. Do you have some evidence that this is not the case?
That is an example of one coach, not coaches, and is in the context of LSU in the days of Dinardo, not today.
Exactly. It's not happening and no reason to think there will be a backlash.

we appreciate you looking out for your son but calm down, he will still attend a fine university. your personal feelings are showing here which is clouding your judgment. the guy looks like a decent ballplayer but still likely doesnt have an offer from LSU for a reason.

regarding uscvball, she was saying its also likely USC hasnt offered, not that Conner doesnt have them listed on his short list. anyone can list any school they want or even hold UCLA press conferences about it but it doesnt mean its an official offer.

No, Conner says very clearly that USC has given him an offer. He has offers from Miami, Texas A&M, USC, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, etc.. Guess who is the only school that hasn't offered???? Hmmmmm.... But, anyways he likes Mississippi St. and USC right now, why??? Because they will give him a shot at running back. I can't be more clear than this. Really, I can't, he has a committable offer or whatever you like to call it from USC. He still says he is high on LSU, but they haven't offered. So we'll see. If they offer I do think he stays in state, if they don't he is probably SC bound.
