USC and Bama'. There is a new article up on scout that says the Trojans have offered and he lists his two favorites as of today in USC and Bama'. I had a feeling this would happen. Ol' Nicky is about to get both of Ouachita's best players in Conner and Blakes. I hate it.....

Well one thing is for sure he will be a 5* now. I would rather him go to USC than Bama.

I sure think CLM phucked up not excepting Connors commitment.:(

Coach Miles has made really good decisions about recruiting and we are sure pumping his sunshine here. However, this Conner's situation is bad PR for Miles. It really wont effect much regarding how good LSU's class will be but probably eroded a little bit of good will with some in the coaching ranks. I know we want the best players but we still need to make sure our back yard is completely covered. This may be one of the few mistakes that Miles has made regarding recruiting and where one of those goofy non-committable offers has back fired. Of course Conner's could still end up at LSU but I think Miles will be a little more careful on issuing non-committable offers to Louisiana kids.

I would say it's possible, depending on the all the facts. Which we will never have.

    I would agree with that.

He will, if we need him.

Why does everyone assume the blame falls at Miles' feet on this one? Which coach recruited this kid and failed to "make it clear" what his status was? I think in the long run, this will just be a speed bump, regardless of how it plays out.

There are not many coaches that can survive by steering their players away from the flagship university, when it has won two championships in five years, and so many kids from around the country are begging to go there as well. It's cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I think from a pr standpoint, it could have been handled better but isn't there some pr nightmare every year? Ultimately, I think we will be fine.

I'm gonna try and find out what is up tonight. I always knew he liked USC, but he never thought he would get an offer. USC must have been paying attention to the whole situation like we have and said, "We can get this kid." Like I said, I will try and find out what's up. I need to correct my statement by saying that Mississippi St. is the other team he is high on, not Bama. So I am assuming that USC and Mississippi St. want him at Running Back.

Conner leaning towards... schools that have offered. If LSU really wants him, we will get him.

Personally, I doubt he has a committable offer to USC.

Look no one has more faith in our coaches than me. After last season I am sure CLM could win a game on the sun, he has an eye for talent and knows how to coach it up. But that's not to say that people don't make mistakes. To me all this commitable noncomittable bs is just that bs.

This kid could be one hell of a bust and if he is I will be the first to say so but RIGHT now the kids is one hell of a footbal player and the last time I checked they were in pretty high demand on any team.

 Don't know where you got that. At this point in the recruiting process, coaches are looking to lock down local talent or looking far only for the 5* kids. Parso is likely correct here. I don't believe Conner has an offer at this point. USC has Patrick Hall coming in as a RB and are in a good position with Cierre Wood. It's always good to keep kids on the radar but as of right now, Conner is a small blip.

The responsibility for these things is Coach Miles'. Im sure its an assistant that is/was recruiting Conner but our CEO is responsible to make sure these PR blunders dont happen.

I will agree this is a minor bump in the road for Miles otherwise impeccable reputation. I dont think this amounts to much of anything but it could have been handled better.

Regarding the coaches not surviving by steering players to other schools, just tell that to J.T. Curtis, who is doing quite well the last I checked, and all those high school coaches who didn't like Dumbnardo. Things can change as quick as the wind especially when it concerns players/parents/boosters desires.

Connor's coach and family has been on the record as saying that Miles handled the situation with honesty and integrity. They have no ill will towards Miles and are realizing that this is the name of the game with recruiting. Comparing this to Dinardo is a reach.

This is a numbers game and we can't just take who the fans are eager to get and like said earlier it is about need with limited scholarships. If we had extras schollies, we would give one to Conner most likely. I for one would question Miles if he accepted his commitment at this point in the game with Minter as an LSU lean and the other great athletes that want to come and play for LSU.
