I agree with that. In addition to Duncan, Roy Hibbert is another big man that gave them fits as well. Fortunately for Miami, there's not too many big men with skills. Maybe (and I stress 'maybe') if Dwight Howard teams with Chris Paul and the Clippers AND, his shoulder heals, AND he gets his mind right AND returns to form from a couple years ago (when his Magic bounce Lebron's heavily favored Cavs); that may be a team that can match up well with and beat Miami. But, as shown, there's a ton of variables in that scenario.
Comments from Spurs message board: I'm going to be disappointed for an awful long time, and this series has stressed me out like no other. I find it pathetic that I care so much about the outcome of a game, and that I will let it dictate my emotions for days and weeks to come. It might be time to get my priorities in order. Well said. Right there with you. I'm heartbroken, but proud. I was choked. ... I probably would have cried more if they won, but I'm man enough to say I had water in my eyes. Oh I cried. I started tearing when Tim Duncan's hook shot rolled off the rim and even more when he tapped the floor. That ball rolling off the rim was TD's 5th ring slipping away. my eyes filled when Timmy couldn't get the tip in. My fiance and sister were flowing though. Not outright sobbing just freely running tears. Oh silly sports. I teared up when Duncan slammed the floor I teared up when Duncan missed his chip shot and slapped the floor, and teared up again when I heard Danny and Duncan and Pop's interviews. I choked watching the post game interviews to be quite honest. I was close to crying while seeing Timmy's postgame interview. That shit was unbearably depressing and sad. I'm just feeling numb right now. It all feels like when your girlfriend breaks up with you and you know it was unavoidable as a die hard spurs fan I have never cried but last night I can't stop my tears....timmy does not needs another title to proven himself, he is always the champ for me but I wanted this one so much for timmy, after all that he's been through I just wanted so much to see a happy smile on his face! I also cried for manu, manu has always been my hero and I wanted so much to see him be manu again I'm heartbroken especially for Timmy, Manu & Danny! I'm still crying I felt terrible for Tim. Missing that layup and his reaction to it, then his press conference. I have that deep sadness you feel in your gut when thinking of how bad that is/will hurt Duncan every time he thinks of it. I didn't cry at first, then I thought about Timmy, and tears came. Great player, class act, least deserving guy to be screwed out of a wedding ring and a 5th championship ring. Seeing Duncan slam the floor at the end... that was terrible. Nothing can erase that pain, except another championship. the loss hurt moreso than any other in franchise history These guys have me a ton of great moments this year. Being in the building for Spurs-Warriors game 1 was unforgettable. Watching a 3 point barrage against Memphis in record setting fashion was amazing. I just wish I could accept defeat. Damn. This sucks. I never thought I'd feel this bad over a team Non-Spurs fan: The Spurs impressed the hell out of me. They are an elite franchise filled with class and excellence. I really thought that they would win this series. They are outstanding. There are a lot of players you can hate on the Heat. HGH DWade, Pedophile Birdman, Mole Rat Head Battier, Greasy Trailer Trash Miller, Sneering Ring Chaser Ray Allen, Disproportionately Confident Scrubs Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers. But ultimately, these guys are scrubs; every last one of them. Even Wade. They are made better only by the extent to which Lebron can carry them. The league revolves around Lebron. His play is so transcendent that with the right supporting cast he is unstoppable. The only question, I think, is when Lebron will start to wear down. That is the only factor limiting the Heat at this point and moving forward. When Lebron falls, or if Lebron is injured, the Heat are completely finished. Spurs will be better and I think will be back in the Finals next year. And if they face the Heat, they will beat them next year for sure. if Heat see the Spurs next year, I swear Tim will eat them alive Chicago or Indiana will knock the Heat out next year. They will not even make it back to the Finals. Wade's declining due to his body breaking down from PEDs. Bosh relishes his subserviant role, Battier and Allen won't be as good, and I seriously don't see anyone worth a shit wanting to go there besides Artest whom they probablu wouldn't even want. On Heat making next Finals: i don't see it. this was already their 3rd Finals in a row. I believe it was Steve Kerr who said after the Bulls 3 peat, they were exhausted and couldn't have done it again even if MJ was still around. They'll probably make some serious noise in the playoffs, but I think the minutes will catch up to them.
Rumor is that Pat Riley just got a trademark patent for "ThreeHeat". I guess he wasn't quite sure about this year because he didn't get one previously for "ReHeat".
Too many variables. With Doc Rivers in LA, kind of think the Paul/Howard train has run out of steam. Not sure if the lakers would send Howard to Clipperville in a blockbuster. Doubt that there is a GM in either LA's, smart enough to get it done. But the Lakers could use Bledsoe and Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Then the lakers go get Lionel Hollins if Phil still has cold feet. It ain't Rocket science.
He's a free Agent. But Howard would much prefer the sign and trade. Otherwise in the NBA, he will be losing millions of dollars that the home team can offer.
Howard gave up $30 million to NOT play for D'antoni. It was pretty much that plain and simple. Plus the limelight is off of him in a much smaller market Houston Rockets team. I think it was smart of him to go there. I think he will work well with Harden who loves to drive to the basket. Howard can get back to his game of easy put backs and dunks off of a driving Harden who will get collapsed on and leave Howard free.
I can't see the pic but have heard that Lebron is technically a lefty. Someone said that it's closer to $20 million after you factor in the state income tax differences and one less year so could possibly be made up and then some. Remember that Slim Thug was also tweeting to Dwight the huge differences in bottles of the premium stuff at strip clubs, the better system for kids born out of wedlock in TX, etc. Jeff Van Gundy was interviewed on a Houston radio show earlier this week and surprised me by saying that his brother Stan currently has a very good relationship with Dwight and they talk often. He also said that Dwight needs to sacrifice his (lack of) offensive game for the good of the team. Focus on setting pick and rolls and attacking the glass for offensive rebounds but not trying to post up too much.
