I was talking about you saying I expect them to be perfect and never lose. That isn't true. I want them to compete, I want a game plan that gives them a chance to win. We don't get that when we play in big games.
C'mon red, you're a smart dude. No one is asking for perfection. No one is asking to be Bama every time. The biggest question I think most of us have is why we keep doing the same thing, time after time, when it's failed miserably? How about some creativity in the offense instead of lining up in an I formation 90% of the time. And no, I'm not endorsing a Big 12 offense. There are ways to be creative running the ball. It's just so frustrating that nothing ever changes offensively when what we do is not working.
You simply move the head coaches to the opposite team and the score is LSU 30, Bama 16. That's pretty profound.
The only thing that is gonna keep Fournette from winning the Heisman is color of his jersey. That's a hard pill to swallow.
We play a lot of I because of a Heisman Trophy candidate at running back. He is a stud and we need to play him. We run the ball a lot because it wins us a lot of games. But we have also played a lot of read option and pistol formation and Bama was stopping those, too. They were not even stacking the line with 8 or 9, they were doing it with their base defense. What I saw was mostly poor blocking by the offensive line. They got pushed around by stronger, smarter players. The coaching I question is the blocking, Where were those pulling guard plays we have seen all season. It was mostly zone blocking and it wasn't moving anybody. And we never rotate anyone out on the O-line. Bama rotated 12 defensive linemen, they were always fresh. Did you see the TV shot of the O-line on the bench in the 4th quarter. They were seriously sucking air. Worn out. All summer we heard about how much depth we had on the line but those talented reserves never get into the game.
