I understand what you're saying and how it speaks to the program(s); however, being "those teams" are not THE ones we'll be playing I think that argument is vastly overrated. Take this year's Auburn team for example. Without Cam they're AT LEAST a 3 loss team imo and I think that's being pretty generous. Assuming he leaves, next year's team has little, if any, reflection on what this year's did- especially when you kick in the fact that they're losing 24 Sr's though I'm not really sure how many are starters in that number. Look what happened when Florida lost such an impact player like Tebow. They were just a "good, solid" team and THAT is only ONE player. They lost some great defensive players too.
This is all I can thnk of. If I didn't think that AU cheated their way to this championship, I could pull for them. But between the allegations, the "Yes, We Cam" nonsense and all that showboating, and dirty play (like Fairley, who'd be great, even if he played cleanly), I just can't get behind this particular SEC school, much like I didn't pull for Bama last year because I didn't want Saban to win another NC. On the other hand, I have no desire to see and hear Oregon pimped up for the next year. For what it's worth, if Cam plays (and I have every reason to believe he will), AU will run away with it. Oregon will score some, but AU will score more. So, yeah...this one sucks.
True. AU loses their entire OL. That right there will cost them games. And they basically had one game changer on offense...and I doubt the money's good enough to keep him there.
Agreed that we will not be playing those exact teams. But 'vastly overated' seems like more hyperbole. Purple Tiger is using the only info he has to imply that we will be playing a high level competition next year. But back on topic... Congrats to our Auburn friends. Let's keep this MNC in the conference.
You my friend, have serious issues...you are taking all of this way to serious...maybe a vacation to the BAHAMA ISLANDS is whats in order for you...trust me, its well worth the trip....:geaux:
Maybe for you and that is your right. There are some pretty good posters on here from Auburn and one of my good employees graduated from there. So I guess I only really 'hate' Auburn when we are playing them or right afterwards. I can't even completely 'hate' USC... those Song Girls are usually delicious.
