satx, thanks for the wishes! you are showing what true sportsmanship is all about! and thanks to you too, husker!
hopefully satx will be back to answer this question, and im not taking a shot at the horns, even though i would love to do so. After the 9th was over and everyone was celebrating, the cameras panned over to the longhorn team who were facing the crowd with their horns in the air. were they just thanking the fans who came out and supported them or are they really that arrogant?
That's a tradition the Texas team has. Win or loose, they face their fans and hold up the hook 'em horns. They might do something along with it but I know they do that every game win or lose.
Texas will be back...as will a young Rice team...as will Arkansas and Virginia. We beat some good programs and I'm sure we'll all meet again soon. I would like to have an early season series against Virginia the next few years. The ACC, Big 12, and SEC will remain tough and be well represented in Omaha.
I didn't care for it at the time as it just played along with their reputation of arrogance and poor sportsmanship, but they were probably showing their appreciation to their fans. Besides, there was no way they were going to rain on our parade. EDIT: Just found out that Tigerband05 was right and they do this all the time whether they win or lose. It's all good.
Exactly, while singing "The Eyes of Texas." Congrats again. Football season can't get here soon enough!
