Fixed it for you. If you recall, he spent most of his last season being pretty vocal about his desire to play elsewhere. It looked good starting out because the Steeler o-line was a mess early this season, but they've gelled since and are playing really well.

And Kurt Warner may be a nice guy and all, but he's the last QB you want in against Blitzburgh. If his line doesn't hold up, he's good for 3-4 turnovers via interceptions and fumbles. He just can't seem to hold on to the football when the pressure is constant.

I thought that but switched up when the poster said trade. I do remember him complaining about the Steelers and said before he ever left that he wouldn't re-sign. That was after they won the Super Bowl, so all the commentators counldn't figure out what the problem was.

    Remember that?

Preciate ya. Wow...the irony! I understand him being upset about Whisenhunt not getting the offer but clearly the Steelers were trying to practice what they preached (Rooney Rule). They got a really good coach our of it. Whiz got a team that's been loaded with potential for years and is now in the Super Bowl. Faneca's pockets are FAT. And they all lived happily ever after...LOL

EXACTLY. Having lived in Pittsburgh for a short time, it's pretty accepted that Allen F wouldn't play here after he got his ring. He was WELL LOVED in this city, but cost them too much money to keep him. However, without him....the Steelers biggest problem to date is the O Line. They know (and knew) what they were losing. They couldn't afford to keep him and he deserved an even bigger check. IF they had Faneca this year, they would have dominated and Big Ben wouldn't be one of the most sacked QB's in the NFL. But,,,,with the other talent on the team, they were still able to make it to the big game and it's a safe bet they'll win it.
Faneca will always be known as the best Offensive Line player the Steelers ever had. And it's a given he'll be a Hall of Famer and surrounded by Steelers when he accepts the honor.
