Merriam-Webster, the largest and most popular college dictionary Definition of ALUMNUS 1. a person who has attended or has graduated from a particular school, college, or university 2. a person who is a former member, employee, contributor, or inmate Mingo was majoring in Sports Administration anyway. The point of going to college is to get educated in something enough to where somebody wants to hire you and pay you good money in the field you focused on i have a successful attorney buddy who only did 3 years of undergrad before going to law school with the program they offered at the time. He didn't get his undergrad degree
He didn't graduate, so he's not considered an alumnus. Now why don't you copy & paste about 400 twitters about it?
Pistol Pete Maravich is not in the LSU Hall of Fame because he never got his degree and is not considered an alumnus. When speaking specifically of a university, alumni means "graduate of". When speak colloquially, one can say that Dana Carvey is an alumni of Saturday Night live. We are speaking about university alumni here and Mingo ain't one yet.
Fuck that definition. It is a slap in the face to those of us who did put in the time and effort to graduate, to be categorized the same as those who just showed up and gave it a try. I hope that yet is the operable word for Mingo and all the rest of the undergrads leaving the football program early to pursue their professional careers.
