Ended his college career with 5 catches (including an impressive one-handed grab) and a TD in #14 BYU's bowl victory over #18 Oregon State in Las Vegas. He was BYU's #1 receiver this season (receptions, total yards, and TDs). He was one of 3 finalists for the Mackey Award (best college TE), which was won by Florida's All-American TE Aaron Hernandez. He finishes his career with the most receptions in school history, and the most career receiving yards in school history for a TE. He didn't get a football scholarship from anybody coming out of high school and he walked onto the BYU team. He went to BYU because he grew up a BYU fan and he is a Mormon (did a two-year LDS Church mission to the Dominican Republic).
