Just back from the game and wanted to compliment y'all on a solid win and on having a fine team. Hopefully the list of inujuries for both teams will be minimal. My family of four drove back to Atlanta in complete silence following the game .... not because of the loss, but because we have no voices remaining. Y'all should be proud of the job that Crowton has done with Lee .... he made "believers" out of a lot of people tonight. Good luck the rest of the way.
Thanks for the classy post! At least you got to enjoy a GREAT GAME!!! Regardless of who won, we saw two talented well coached teams go at it, with big swings of momentum, and great plays. Great entertainment!
Its cliche, but its really sad that a team does have to lose a game like that. LSU/Auburn is the best rivalry going on in the best sport in the world, college footbal. Great performance by both teams. LSU just had a little more. Our OL and DL made the difference in the end. If the Auburn O can continue to play like they did last night they will be a very tough team and are a legit top ten team. LSU established themselves last night, Lee came through in the end, showing poise to come back after the horrible interception. He has the arm we need to go through the SEC, I dont think Hatch could have won that game like that last night. Also, we have a stud back in Scott. He runs very hard.
I know Auburn versus Alabama is huge as are many other rivalries around the country but there really isn't much out there to compare with the LSU / Auburn series. When searching for college football in the dictionary or on the internet, a picture of Auburn / LSU should be listed. :thumb:
I cant talk either! Ironically I ended up going to the game at the last minute with a couple Auburn colleagues and the atmoshpere and electricity in that stadium last night was just as good as TS on a saturday night. The game was brutally hard hitting and these two teams just seem to bring the best out in each other. I sat right in the middle of the Auburn section dressed in Purple and Gold. Everyone was nice and respectful even when things where looking good for Auburn. After the game I got lots of "congrats" from aub fans and it was one of the better game experiences I have had for a road game. WHEW...WHAT FUN! GEAUX TIGERS!
My son is an Auburn grad living in San Francisco. His best friend out there is also an Auburn grad, head of air traffic control at SFO. Talked to him last night and he could barely speak, he was so hoarse. But he did say he went with his girlfriend and his buddy and his wife to a bar in SF that was 200 some people either from LSU or Auburn. Your fans are everywhere. Btw, great game... best game of the day, imo.
Thanks Caddy. I've been reading all the boards and the loss really seems to have affected Auburn fans objectivity with regards to the quality of Auburn's and LSU's teams. Auburn has a very good team. LSU is loaded and most LSU fans feel/felt that the only missing piece to another national championship run was the uncertainty at QB. LSU has been loading up with talent for years I keep seeing references to Auburn losing to "a 3rd string QB" etc. Lee was an Elite 11 QB and is the son of a football coach. The talent has always been there it was just a matter of when Lee could put it together. I say this because I think if many Auburn fans would understand how loaded LSU is they would also realize Auburn is a very good team that just has a few kinks to work out, just as LSU does. I hope Auburn stays in the top 10 this week because despite the loss they are still one of the top 10 teams in the country right now. I'd love to see USC or Oklahoma try and play Auburn or LSU's schedule. Man what a brutal game that was. I'm sore this morning from just watching it.
You and Hawker45 are two examples of why it's great to be a college football fan. Classy fans from opposing teams. :thumb: Best of luck the rest of the way particularly against that other team from Alabama.
I agree with you, but you forgot about Deceks too. They are such classy fans, you almost feel bad when you win.
