You guys had me nervous for a little while, but the better team pulled through. I was rooting hard for you guys. If Virginia couldn't win it, I'm glad you guys did. I couldn't believe how many fans you guys had there. I wonder if anyone in Omaha, or Baton Rouge for that matter, got any sleep last night. Hope we can meet up again there next year!

Start pushing your program for an early season matchup with the Tigers sometime in the next few years. We used to match three Louisiana teams with three teams from another state in an early season contest in the Superdome. It was great but ended years ago.

We have some great in-state OOC opponents but love home & home type series with good opponents (and their fans) from other states.

It would be a good matchup and prepare both for their conference schedules.

I would love to see that, but with our coaches being such good friends, they aren't going to play each other. In their CWS interviews, both coaches said when O'Connor left Notre Dame (when Manieri was still there), they vowed that they would never play a game against each other unless the NCAA forced them to play.

So maybe the next best thing we could do is this - we'll schedule a series against one of your rivals and try to beat their brains in, and you guys schedule a series against Va Tech and see how many times in a weekend you can score triple digit runs on them.
