The years all blend together. We did break their 22 game winning streak didn't we?

Arkansas was the true champ that year as Bama lost their bowl game and the piggies won, that's why the AP changed the final vote till after the bowl games.

I remember Joe LaBruzzo scoring in that game in 66 like it was yesterday!!!!!!

We also played Arkansas in the famous Cotton "Ice" bowl in 1947. Ended in a 0-0 tie when LSU fumbled the field goal snap. The tigers actually lit oil drums on fire to try and keep players warm on the sidelines. Some people swear that fans in the stands stated fires to keep warm.

Wish I would have had a lit oil drum in the 2002 Cotton Bowl against Texas. Damn it was cold.

I don't remember it being that cold. It was chilly, but I wore a sweatshirt and jeans and was even a little warm by the time the game was over.

I thought it was cold as shit. It's the wind in Texas that gets you.

The north winds in the winter here are no joke, that's for sure. Before I moved here, I had no idea how windy DFW is--practically all of the time.

The wind/temps/cold talk makes me think of an old friend of my great grandpaws. When I was just a young pup my great grandpaw had a gentleman come see him who was an old WW2 buddy who were gunners on a battle ship together. It was bout mid january and I was at my great grandpaws house talkin bout how I was goin to do a little oystering(out of season but I was young and stupid) that night. Anyhow he was from Minnesota and wanted to go. I said come on let's go. Had my buddy with me and picked up the yankee bout 11 that night. He came out in a pair of overalls, shortsleeve shirt and little jacket. He was much older than me so I didn't want to tell him anything but I suggested that he might want a little more clothes than that. He proceeded to tell me to mind my business that he was from Minnesota and that I didn't know what cold was. Hell at the time I figured he was right plus I wasn't gonna argue with him anyways so off we went. Me and buddy went to loadin the skiff full of oysters in back bay and it was cold. Prob around 25 degrees and 10-20 north wind and it was cuttin to the bone. Had the bow bout dippin under with oysters and when we started in the yankee could barely move. Comin in we saw the law waitin at the mouth of the bayou so we eased up in a little ditch to wait em out. Aftet maybe an hour he couldn't take it and next thing I knew he had done busted up one of my seats and built a little fire in the middle of my skiff with it. Law was on us before I could through the seat over but luckily it was a cousin and he laughed and said yall get the hell out of here. But that guy said in his whole life growing up in Minnesota that night in back bay in biloxi was the coldest he's ever been.
