I had some great online conversations with him in the mid-90's on an AOL forum. He's just a regular dude from Leesville, and a great Tiger. Many congrats Kevin!
So true Bay. I had an open pass to all practices and a bench pass to all games, during his time at LSU. He and Gabe Northern would keep the practice lively, the entertainment with those two was first class.
Kenny and Pete Jenkins still do a lineman's camp every Summer........FYI....... http://www.offdeflinecamp.com/default.asp
Nice read. Thanks for sharing. Hey dad, you mentioned a bench pass during his time. Could the players give those out back then? Just curious.
Don't think so, I got mine from a coach I knew on the staff. I still keep up with a few of the coaches during that time. I see and talk with Jesse Daigle from time to time. Tyke Tolbert is up in Denver as a Pro coach. Phil Bennett is the DC at Baylor, many remember what happened with his wife while he was at K St. I saw Steve Buckley last year after the Rice/So. Miss game, most are still doing good. A few more I see and talk with regular. I tell people thats one of the more closer professions that I know .
Okay, thanks. I misread your other post but wasn't sure since the time referenced was the Curly H years. I have a first cousin who caught in the majors and used the bat one that someone on the coaches' staff put out and he a got some sideline passes to a UGA game a few years back. I would so love to be on the sidelines one game.
Once that staff broke-up, I was still friends with a number of coaches. One was coaching at Miss. St. I got a sideline pass on the visitors side. A few years later a friend was coaching at Auburn, got a pass on the visitors side again. Thats when I first met and got to know Jimbo Fisher. I made games up at SMU when Phil Bennett was head coach there.
