I am from Reserve...graudate of East St John and still have family living there. Today at a family christmas eve dinner, same conduits (both former LSU atheletes...so there is only goodwill to LSU...no animosity) that told me about the "Brady has no class" reason that a star player from that region is not going to consider LSU also just recently spoke to Ryan Perrilloux.

Ryan told him that he had made a decision to go to LSU...just waiting to announce later but if Saban leaves, he is going to re-evaluate whether or not he should go to Texas.

I know this is probably not really new "news"...just wanted to contribute an update.

I guess it would be good news since Nick Saban is going to be here a while. Got It? :thumb: :) :champs:

Well, somebody certainly was wrong about Saban.
We all knew he had aspirations for the pros. It doesn't surprise me he chose to go. He has absolutely nothing to lose and a lot to possibly gain with the Miami job. Thanks Saban for the title and program.

Now, back to Perrilloux. I live in Fort Worth and the UT alumni were praying for Saban to take the Miami job because they suspected they lost Ryan to LSU.

Well now the Les Miles is our guy, he has already spoken with Ryan and his head coach. Hopefully Ryan will commit to LSU. With questions surrounding Russell's ability at decision making Perrilloux would only have to beat out Jamarcus for the job.

My question is "would Coach Miles project him as a QB?" Skyler Green was a QB in high school, but he, just like Ryan P., is just a great athlete. Do you think he'll play QB or will he end up at some other position?

When the #1 player in the nation wants to come to your school (no matter what school he goes to), you play him where he wants :)

He's a QB, and a damn good one at that.

I don't think there would be a question about what position he would play. Ryan wants to be QB and he chose UT initially because of the lack of depth there. However, after the poor showing Jamarcus had, he can now think about possibly beating out Russell for the starting job.

When LSU has Jamarcus (who has not impressed anyone in decision making & can't scramble) as the favorite to start in 2005, then you have a chance to get a QB stud in Ryan, well don't you think they would want him for QB?

For all of those who follow recruiting. Do you think that Vince Young's coming out party at the Rose Bowl will have any bearing on RP's decision?

Decision was made before Rose Bowl...

Whether or not Vince Young or Jemarcus Russel had great games or not, RP was heading in the direction of LSU. Reserve/Laplace is a small community and RP saw all the local adoration for Kirsten Pittman; wanted some of the same hometown love. All that had to be settled in his mind was the replacement for Nick Saban...was somebody going to come in that wanted to install a vertical passing game? I think Les Miles answers that and you have probably read on another thread in this forum, Larry
Dautrieve, his HS coach, really likes Les Miles so that will just further solidify his decision to stay and play in front of his family and friends.
