People back trump bc they feel he actually gives a shit about America as opposed to anyone else except Bernie.
People will support anyone who they feel would put Americans and America first as opposed to this shitbag for a president who has convinced much of the left to be embarrassed for it. Things haven't changed much down here... poor white fools who had no hope of ever owning slaves fought for rich plantation owners, and against their own self interests, to keep the racial status quo... and now no matter how miserable and desperate their lives their white descendants can at least count themselves above what they see as lower classes of people.
