Do you pull for the SEC in all of its bowls, or are you one of them grudge holding mofo's? Geaux Buffs and Geaux Warriors!
My mind knows that it's best to pull for the SEC and I do for most teams. But my heart just won't let me pull for our most bitter rivals; especially if that team has beaten us that year.
I always pull for the SEC, the more bowl wins over other conferences the better, both for our conference status and strength of schedule and also for the money, which is shared by all SEC schools. An SEC bowl sweep would be fantastic.
I wonder if that's ever been done. I remember one year, we had 10 bowl teams and won something like 9 of them. I'm not sure if we've ever had a clean sweep though.
Oh, I always pull for our conference- I don't always pick them though. In fact, in my bowl pick 'ems, I'm struggling cause picking against them in bowls takes away from the enjoyment a little when they win- I'm just real competitive and don't like to drop a game. The more I look at our Bowl matchups, the more I like our chances. I'd initially thought it would be 4-5 wins and 5-4 loses but I think we match up well. I worry about Kentucky and Tennessee cause they might be disappointed in where they ended up, in relation to where they could have been but Ky. was out of the race, so-to-speak, kinda early so may not be too huge of a factor. Bama/Clemson is a toss-up to me and I'd like a Saban-team but I worry about the locker room problems coming out of Bama. I think Missouri would beat Arky but they might be disappointed with their lot in the bowl scheme too so that one's hard for me too.
I make my decision retroactively. If SEC teams lose I'll say, "Man it was nice seeing Tubs, Saban, Fulmer.....lose that one." If the SEC has a strong bowl showing, I will point it out in a discussion of conference superiority. I always win.
