Did the BCS make a rule a few years ago that you need to win your conference championship to go to the nat. championship??? WWL was discussing this and said yes, I just don't get why all these national media guys don't acknowledge this rule if it exist?? Any thoughts.
Yeah its not but it should no way if you cant win your conference how should you have a shoot at the National Championship.
Not a rule, but the last 2 times we let a team that did not win their CG into the national championship, it was a farce LSU vs OU in 03 (should have been USC) Nebraska vs Miami in 01 (Nebraska was embarrassed) Voters won't allow this to happen again.
Many of the people who vote on who is, "WORTHY," don't care. This BCS final poll is going to come down to the POLITICS of who thinks what. There may be some who will put Georgia way ahead of LSU by virtue of who they think tOSU may have an easier time defeating.
there is no such rule but I'm pretty sure the extra game does help, and you are playing a quality opponent to give you that extra boost in SOS
You're right. No such rule exists. But it should! ...IMO, it's just COMMON freak'n sense! You should NOT be playing for a National title when you can't EVEN win your own CONFERENCE (and in UGA's case--their OWN DIVISION!). Then again, in this whole BCS crap, "common sense" isn't so common...
