I think Coach O is man who concerns himself with what people think about him, which is ok. He is definitely not a coach who runs up the score. He has made plenty of statements showing he is a "good guy" But, I sure hope at some point soon he makes a statement that he "isn't always a good guy". There is a certain level of savage you want in a coach.
Agreed. I want to get back to filthy lines on both sides and stay RBU and DBU. That goal line play where Coach O broke his head set (which l loved.....that savage part I'm looking for) and then we punched it in on the next play showed our O Line was underperforming out there last night. Cadillac-ing is what we called it when I played ball. Our D Line coach would pull us to the side and have us go 100% at our O Line the next Monday in practice after games they pulled that shit.
I don't think so. He has an outgoing personality and most people who meet him like him but he is the kind of guy that would say to hell with you if you don;t like me.
There is only one captain on a ship....and good ones know when to take a step back and allow the technical experts to do their job. My hope is that is what Coach O is doing and will continue to do. If so it doesn't speak less of him as a coach, its speaks more.
I know you don't believe in O, Tap. That's fine and understandable, however, you need to give him a fair chance. Nothing we see so far outside of the boneheaded penalties has shown anything to be doubtful. Canada has said numerous times he takes what the D gives him, which makes sense. The passing game has looked better than any year since Mett, OBJ, and Landry's last year since '07. I also think Canada knows the limitations on Etling's arm, I think next year with Brennan we will see him open up the deep passing game even more.
