Well, if th Oline doesn't improve soon, then Etling will be benched by injury and you will get Brennan and Narcisse
I agree. But I go back to what Tirk said and what I witnessed last night with the Packers. The adjustment they made at halftime with quick short passing routes to compensate (at least a little) for the lack of pass protection helped them. It isn't going to win us the SEC but its at the very least going to help us move the ball and maybe sustain some drives and give our defense a breather. How many 3 and outs did we post Saturday due to shit o-line play and play calling with no counter attack? To be clear, I'm not bashing Etling, not at all. I don't put this on him, he is a serviceable QB. I'm only saying that if we're using 2017 as an investment year, why stop at the QB? Might as well work on improving the future at that position too if indeed that's our plan.
I was afraid of that. I remember folks hoping that all of the attrition on the o-line wasn't going to be an issue. But of course it was going to be a problem. Again, why is O running off so many? It can't be his superior discipline because we now have more penalties than we had under Miles--which most of us wouldn't have thought was possible.
