I thought Hatch did a fine job of checking down. It was Lee who really stared down his receiver and would throw to them regardless of the coverage, which is why he should've had 3 picks.

Glad to see that we didnt have 10 running backs getting stats in this game first off!

Punting and Kick Offs, just like everyone else has said, HOOOOORRIBLE

Def coverage they looked LOST! How many times did the man in motion NOT have someone cover him. If Appy St would have caught the WIDE OPEN passes they dropped we would have been looking at a different score.

Dline got some GREAT pressure WHILE being able to contain the QB nicely!

K.Williams looked like Justin Vincent did after the 03 chmpionship.

The one major concern with the Qbs is the lack of passes to and down the sideline. This could have been just part of the gameplan for an early season opp. OR it could be that the coaches have no confiedence in the qbs to make that throw across coverage. Either way those passes down the sidelines are what can change the balance of a game and we will need them to win in the SEC!!!!

And on Lee's interception he NEVER TOOK HIS EYES off his target!!!

Agree with most of what was said.

Think we all need to give Hatch and Lee a little more credit for the first time on the field.

Remember how inept Flynn looked when he came in for a few plays against Iowa in the bowl game.

Our QBs are only going to get better. Let's support these guys as they develop. :thumb:

Good point. Its easy to forget the experience level compared to years past. At least the schedule is favorable for gaining some experience early.

the cause for concern is elevated because hatch and lee werent playing against iowa, it was appSt. and they almost never had anyone in their face. and appSt's secondary had ALL first year starters.

He didn't start for us until a year & half later... big difference.

im glad then. i looked and looked and never saw one. i guess it can be hard to see a 5 degree rotation of the qb. from what i saw, every time he went to dickson or a rb it was first choice.

This was the first meaningful game action either QB has received. Game speed is different than practice. Definitely think both QBs have a lot of room for improvement. But as the season goes on these guys are going to continue to develop.

True. But we don't have that luxury b/c of RP. Just saying that these QBs will continue to develop and to keep in mind it was their first meaningful game action.

If I was playing in Tiger Stadium for the first time I'm sure I'd have a wicked case of the jitters/butterflies.

I'm confident in Crowton to develop these QBs and come up with game plans to put these QBs in a position to be succesful.

We've talked about our depth at running back being a strength. I was disappointed in Williams, and Murphy didn't show much either. Ridley looked good on one run, and after Scott, he'd be my pick based on that game. But I was concerned about depth at RB. We need a lot of improvement after Scott.
