I'm providing a link to a page showing all current LSU commits. If you click on their names, then scroll down, you will see all of the other schools they are interested in, along with their level of interest. Just today, I noticed that every LSU commit has "no interest" next to the other schools name. Upon checking other schools commits, I notice their commits usually have "low interest" or "medium interest" next to the other schools names. This confirmed to me that this is a new thing with LSU commits, at least on this Scout's site. Have anything to do with what LD did?? http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=8&toinid=748&yr=2007
Actually, what I notice now is that if a player is listed as a "soft verbal", he still shows interest in other schools. I was looking at Alabama's, and checked a couple that showed low or medium interest in other schools, but they are "soft verbals".
Exactly, if a guy has a favorite or has given a soft verbal they may have the other schools listd as low or medium interest. If they think it is a solid commit than the other schools will be listed as no interest. It's been that way on scout for as long as I can remember.
Scout considers a commit a "soft verbal" if they continue to take other trips, or they keep their recruitment open. Luther & McCoy were both listed as soft verbals to LSU for this reason. McCoy has since firmed his commitment & of course we know what happened with Luther. It is not specific to LSU.
The 'level of interest' and 'soft verbal' tags they put on recruits are some of the most UNRELIABLE information they could possibly give. I don't even look at them, and haven't for years...they are notoriously WRONG.
Thanks guys for the info. It still makes me feel better that all of our "commits" are apparently solid.
