Y'know, after reading this post it reminded me how sensitive some folks still are about race. So much so that even the slightest mention of it has to start some sort of confrontation. OK people listen up, we (folks of different ethnic backgrounds) are by very nature different from one another. I don't think black folks are better than white or any worse. To be sure, there are people on "both" sides of that fence who are racists. I think the thing that really makes some folks uncomfortable is the cultural differences, beyond that its just the package God put us in. The truth is, I think we're all prejudice to one degree or the other. The black guys I know use the "N" word more than the white guys i know! I don't care what your family lineage is. I treat people the way they treat me! And what damn difference does it make whether its a black kid or a white kid at Quarterback for the Tigers. When they play, all I see is a uniform and a helmet, with LSU and a Tiger stamped on it! People shouldn't wear their feelings on their sleeves so much. It will be their undoing. Lighten up! Not every statement (no matter if it may seem that way) is meant to be a shot!

    OK...I've ranted enough

Was truly meant in jest. Probably should've put one of those little grinning things on it. My bad. Didn't mean to cause anyone heartburn. Certainly didn't mean to offend. I'm thinking some of you who seem to have been so offended maybe take much of what you read here much too seriously. I dealt with my white guilt issues long ago.

At any rate, I have learned that I much more talented at lurking than posting.

on the subject of talented QB's

    1. football is a team sport. let me explain, its possible that this yr's team was better all the way around than last yrs team even with JR.

    2. So a huge talent at one position is great, especially QB, but that doesnt necessarily win you the NC. but it helps.

    3. would JR have brought home the :crystal: with this yrs team? Its a question no one can answer and know. possibly? its a mute point.

Do i think a white kid makes a better qb than a black kid, given that they are equal physically? Yes... Does that make me rascist? No, it means I've studied child psychology... Its been proven in study after study that children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds tend to be more individualistic in behavior... This is understandable... If you are coming from poverty, chances are you are looking out for you and you alone or you aren't going to make it... Having taught these kids, I can tell you I have seen it in person, not just in some study... So kids who come from poverty tend to not be very good leaders, but instead excel in situations where strong individualism is a desired trait... QB is not a position where you want this... RB, WR, most defensive postions... Strong individuals do well...

With that said, remember that this is based on averages... Take a black kid from a well-off family and a white kid from a trailer park and you might see the opposite... But on average, the white kid is going to be from a family with a higher socioeconomic status than the black kid... Also, because so many black people are in poverty, that individualistic nature does spread somewhat throughout the culture despite level of wealth...

P.S. If you feel like pointing out typos or misspellings, go for it.. i was rambling..
