I guess that's the point. What do you need to seed anybody for at all? Just name the 8 super regional teams and forget about the order. Because it makes no difference in college baseball. In other sports seeding is important because it gives higher seeds an advantage since they will play lower seeds. This is lost in Omaha because they don't reseed.
yeah but regional, super regional, and omaha are all part of the tournament. you dont change the seeds in march madness when it gets down to the great 8.
For those of you complaining, lets hear how you would have seeded the teams and your logic behind the seeding.
I have no problem with how the teams are seeded this year. Since the 6,7 and 8 seeds were the ones who were replaced. But imagine if TCU gets past Texas. Why should they get the #1 seed and an easier road than the 2,3 and 4 seeds in Omaha? 1-CSF 2-LSU 3-UNC 4-ASU 5-TCU 6-UVA 7-R-Kansas 8-Southern Miss
They had two other national seeds that made it in on their side of the bracket. #2 & #3 seeds LSU and Cal State had easier road (on paper) being the only two national seeds on their side of the bracket to make it.
well since we're playing make-believe, imagine if a 16 seed ever beats a 1 seed in March Madness. That 16 seed has an easier road the rest of the way than the 2, 3, and 4 seeds. Seeding is only used for the purposes of who you play, and which side of the bracket you're thrown into. 1st 2 rounds, highest remaining seeds play in their home ballpark. Being the "home" team in Omaha is nowhere near as big of an advantage as actually playing in your yard. You have to record 27 outs against your opponent whether they bat before or after you.
