deuce had a good first post, but I agree with fishhead's modifications to it. Catrera had a solid career IMO; south of expectations, but expectations can be unreal as we see in all those high school evaluations; many will be wrong. Big busts were Z. Thomas and T. Giddens; character counts in college as well as the NFL.

06 is the strongest class right now. Hopefully this will change, and we will see the 09 class take it over. I feel it should happen with the talent we have, just really have to compare it to other teams to have a true gauge.

I am really excited about this year. Being ranked in the top 30 is a little different, but I have a really good feeling that Jarrett Lee is going to be the next great LSU QB, and Ford and Ridley are going to light it up. Of course with all number #1 recruits as receivers, the RB's are going to have to compete for the ball.

Great time to be a Tiger!

What's this feeling based on? Because Lee won't play more than mop-up duty this season...

I wasn't gonna say anything, but it did need to be said. People need to get it in their heads...JJ is the QB, and that's the best thing. I hope JLee is able to step up if necessary, but I don't want him having to start, or play in critical situations if at all possible. He has proven, no matter what people wanna forget, that he can't handle it. And he has done nothing to change that. He goes 10-20 in a scrimmage, throwing another pick 6, and people act like he's stolen the job back. No. Just no.

Hey give Lee a break. He was thrown into the fire as a freshman, and all I hope for the kid is that he becomes a great QB. I wish the same for Jefferson. What I saw at the spring game, and from what I have heard through others is that Lee is pushing Jefferson. This is suppose to be a competition to see who will start.

Right now it is Lee, IMO. That's all, no bad mojo. Just believe Lee is a more talented passer of the football.

Lee was great last spring...and the one before. It's game time that is a problem. I'm sorry, I don't care how pretty of a pass you can throw. (and I agree he is "a more talented PASSER") If you throw that many to the other team, and they score a TD on nearly every single one, you have no business starting over someone who, as a true sophomore, led the team to 9 wins in the SEC, with NO running game, no OL, and completed 60% of his passes, with way more TDs than INTs...and no INTs returned for 6. This is actually not a competition. JJ is the starter.

I promise you, I'm not "bashing" Lee. But I'm not gonna have my head in the sand, just to "give Lee a break". Facts is facts.

I bet Jarrett Lee can cast further than you towards the shoreline, though !!.

    :)lol: !!)

One note of interest...2006 was the class immediately following Katrina wasn't it? That was the year that Miles finished #7 in the nation in recruiting despite not even knowing where most of the Louisiana recruits had evacuated to. and even when they did know, it was usually in someone else's back yard and they were suddenly on other radars.

Considering all that post Katrina turmoil, I think this class was Miles' greatest effort, individual recruits contributions notwithstanding !! This was probably an effort that may have been the greatest in modern college football history.

Miles has said it is a competition. If Lee looks better in the fall, do not be surprised if Lee gets the call.

Just because he looked horrible when he was thrown into the fire as a freshman, does not mean he can not turn it around as a junior. It would be GREAT!!!!! He has more ability than Jefferson throwing the ball, and I would sure love to see three NUMBER 1 recruits Tolliver, Randle and Shephard get the ball more often.

    Happy Easter!!

Yes, it's a competition, but im just worried lee has david carr syndrome. Thrown into the fire and wasn't ready, and now he's shell shocked. Of course Lee looked decent in the spring game. It's a game where defenses are vanilla and QBs dont take hits. Ill wait until the real game to judge Lee but overall, it does not look good for him.
