LT hasn't been the same since his thug meltdown after their playoff loss two years ago. They're not a good team. They have several great players but they're not a great team. They should be gone next week but if they get this same crew of refs...you never know.
I don't hate Manning. Much to the contrary. I like him a lot. I love Dungy. He is my favorite coach. I just call em like I see em. Manning is a general disappointment come playoff time. Brady or Montana makes a first down on 3rd and 2 and ends the game. Manning doesn't. There's your difference. 17 points? Unacceptable. Blame it on the defense for giving up 17 points in regulation? laughable. Blame the refs. Uh, no. The calls may have looked marginal, but they were all legit. Which call didn't you like?
I've never really cared how tight or loose games are called as long as they're called even for both teams. That wasn't the case yesterday and unfortunately happens far too often in the NFL. Is it really that difficult to spot the ball in the right place? Did the Powder Puff Girl blue jerseys make it difficult for the refs to see holding or clipping on the Chargers? The Colts made many mistakes and had trouble each time the Chargers punter pushed them back inside the five yard line but the Chargers still got many calls. This was either another horrible NFL officiated game, a fix, or a combination of the two. It's sad when 10,000 GEICO commercials are more interesting than the game. The NFL has great players and fans but the refs and the greed will destroy a great product. It may be more glitz than ever before but the quality of the game isn't close to what it used to be. Sad! :dis:
This proves my point i made in the Payton/Orgeron thread in the den. Relying on the passing game might get you to the playoffs, but not being able to run the football will prevent you from winning. If the Colts had a running game, they run out the clock at the end and advance. The defense played well enough to win. So for all you Saints fans that are happy with our pass-happy offense, look at this game last night. That's what you can expect.
