Sometimes Peyton Manning thinks a little too hard about things. Faced with a 4th and 1/2 yard at the Charger 6 and the Chargers leading 23-21 with less than 2 minutes to go, Indy tries to pull SD offsides (at least that I assumed they were trying to do). I was thinking to myself they'll probably cause themselves a penalty and make it a longer kick. And lo and behold they did just that. They got called for the exact same penalty that LSU was called vs Bama when all the lineman tried to crowd in (simulating a snap). I never remember a ref calling this penalty before, and now I see it twice within a week of each other. Well what made it all the worse is that Venateri barely missed the 29 yard kick to the right. Had it been a 24 yard like it should have been, the ball would have been barely inside the right upright instead. Manning you gotta stop trying so hard sometimes. The game's not that difficult. On this same night, he throws 6 interceptions. He would definitely like to forget this game ever happened.
Did you think you were watching a Saints game again? teams always do that and it is never called. They were going to kick a field goal anyways, who cares. They lost because of a number of other reasons, none of which included that bs call. And I am sure the smartest player of all time appreciates you simplifying things for him.
Believe you me NOBODY here in San Diego really thinks we won the game, only that the Colts lost! Which makes us look even more pathetic? So much talent here in SD and no one to coach it. Except for Special Teams!
Sorry to say this, but your coach is an idiot. Does he have beef with LT or what? Why does he try so hard not to give him the ball when he's the best player you have on offense. The next huge problem is the QB. Philip Rivers is NOT an NFL QB. Watch and see, San Diego will be looking for a QB in 2 years time, Rivers is absolutely horrible. Forget about all the mistakes, interceptions and fumbles. He's one dimensional, you pretty much expect where he's throwing. It's either Gates or LT, he doesnt have a complete passing game. When your starting wide recievers have a combined 32 receptions for the season, this is an embarrassing passing game. He has got to look for his recievers instead of locking on Gates and if he's not open, force an INT, get sacked, or throw a dump off pass to LT. I really feel sorry for Buster Davis, he may never get to catch a ball with that kind of offense.
AGREED on all of the above. I am still a Saints fan but living up the hill from the "Q" you have to follow: Norve Turner has had a successful season as a head coach where?
What still amazes me is that a qb can throw 6 int. and at the end of the game still be in it to win. That is AMAZING!!!
