This may not be the correct forum for this question but I was wondering if any of you knew the answer. I was playing in a basketball city league championship game a few nights ago and the league uses mostly college/high school rules. We were down by a point with about 20 seconds left and I took a charge. We were in the bonus (maybe even double-bonus) and the official with the "view" called a charge. The other official rushed in and changed the call to a travel although it was definitely not a travel. If they had called a charge, would I have been shooting free throws or would it be a "player controlled foul" with us taking the ball out of bounds (even though we were in the bonus)? Everyone on my team thought I would've had free throws but I thought that you didn't shoot free throws on charges. Just curious.

Wikipedia, on the College rules of when free throws are awarded:

A charge is cosidered a player control foul and free throws are NOT rewarded when in the bonus or double bonus.:thumb:

Charge = no free throws. Thats for every level of competitive basketball I've played...
