My impression with Miles leaves me to believe if there's a dual threat QB on the roster he's going to lean that direction. As I recall, weren't you guys dealing with co-OC's when Mett was there (first year) and had issues with the direction of the offense?
Mett needed work. Mett went from a QB rating of 128.3 to 171.4, He threw 10 more TD's this passed year, with only 1 more INT. His completion % moved up over 10%. LSU last year had a 3rd down conversion of 57.1%, only one team in college football had a better % ever. Too many things went right because of the mesh of Cam and Mett. At times Mett forced the ball, knowing OBJ and Landry would make the catch. I went back and looked at a number of games, all too often the other WR's, TE's and Backs were wide open. Mett forced the ball into OBJ or Landry, he played the odds, they would come down with the ball. Mett made some NFL throws last year. The QB's this year maybe following what Cam wants done a little more. There was a total of 56 points in the Spring game, we will get our points. I saw what Cam did with Mett and the offense last year, what he did with two WR's, and a RB, all getting drafted into the NFL.
First of all Lame Kitten is not in the PAC10 anymore where they can't even spell DEFENSE. He will have a tougher time putting up numbers against SEC caliber (NFL Minor League) defenses. And don't be fooled, the elf won't let him open it up to much (you know bad things happen when you pass) and mess up the process. As far as Cam at Miami, nobody has been able to save that Titanic since Shula left. Even Tuna could not do anything with it. That whole organization is in shambles.
Co-OCs? I don't think so. I believe that's the year Kragthorpe was hired and then he got sick. They moved Studrawa to OC and Krag into an admin job. The offensive philosophy, I felt, was the same as before.
As I recall, before Cam came to LSU, back in 2012, Kragthorpe was what appeared to be a very active QB coach and I suspect had a fair amount of influence with the OC/Offensive Line Coach, Greg Strudawa --- It was kind of a Co-OC thing that was hastily thrown together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_LSU_Tigers_football_team Back to topic, rating the OCs --- There's no way anyone can say for sure who the best OC is, but after Cam's first year, I don't know how anyone could exclude Cam from being considered as one of the top OCs which the article does. 2014, Cam's second year is at hand, and if he helps our young skilled position players to shine, he'll certainly move up the list of top OC. Looking forward to 2015, my gosh, if 2014 is a good LSU offensive year, than 2015 will be spectacular. A solid ball control offense in 2014 coupled with a more mature defense and this time next year, look for LSU to top the chart of best OC/DC.
From LSU: Kragthorpe joined the Tigers in January of 2011 and was originally tabbed as LSU's offensive coordinator. However, Kragthorpe relinquished that role before the start of fall practice after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Kragthorpe remained as LSU's quarterbacks coach in 2011 and 2012 helping the Tigers to the school's first 13-0 regular season in school history in 2011 followed by a 10-3 mark in 2012.
Did that actually happen? No. Did he ever play in a game at Georgia. No. Did he sit on the bench at LSU for two years. Yes. You are wrong, Terry. Cameron changed everything with Mettenberger.
Let's bring this back to another point for a minute. The improvement in the offense at Tennessee has nothing to do with LK? The improvement of Mett is directly influenced by Cameron. But, the improvement on offense at Tennessee doesn't give anyone pause to consider that he's a good offensive coordinator?
I haven't said anything about Kiffen at Tennessee except that he bolted quickly and left them in a bad place after pissing off half the teams in the SEC. What I said was that you are wrong about Cameron and Mettenberger. You have no case.
