Just so there is clarity about the recusal rule and how it plays in voting.... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...f-voting-protocol-and-recusal-policy/8535167/ Recused members can't vote for "their" team. How about committee members colluding to make sure a conference or team gets a bias even if their own teams don't? See Jeff Long, Dan Radakovich, and Archie Manning.
Simple fact of the matter is without a committee the teams would have to qualify like they do in other sports where the conference winners would automatically make the playoffs & they would have to have 2, 4, 8 or 16 conferences. We know that all SEC fans would bitch up a storm if that transpired. So a committee has to be involved in the decision. My problem is in having a guy whose job might hang in the balance having any input in the decision. As an example say two AD'S jobs were under severe scrutiny and their teams were in the mix. Think they might make a deal? I do.
I think it should be done the way it used to be done, a combination of voters, polls, and computers. Not some Supreme Court of athletic directors, a fucking Manning and Condasleeza Rice.
