Idk, that isn't terrible. I'm more worried about the criteria they use to rank them but yeah, the top 8 would be better than an undeserving conf champ sitting at 12.
They've a got a lot of brains on that committee and support staff. I suspect we'll see some tweaking down the road.
Hope your right, problem is money makes things work better to benefit some people. Almost always to the benefit of the few not the whole group.
My issue is with FSU. Good sure, top 4 good? No way. If they are going to put so much wait on being undefeated then where is Marshall?
I don't have a problem with FSU. They beat 3 teams who were ranked in the Top 25 when they played them. It might be a moot point in the AM.
I'd rather stick with 4 and bcs rankings. Too many teams get a second chance if you just take the top 8.
I think 15 is a good cutoff, allows cinderellas. I'd also consider 1 team per, highest rated (not champ necessarily).
Beauty of the playoff system. Expand it to 8 teams and maybe, just maybe Marshall gets in. Wouldn't it be some shit to see Marshall rise up and slap down someone like a FSU or ohio state who is getting in to the playoffs, perhaps more off of name recognition and beginning the year rankings than proving it on the field?
