With LSU being out of the conversation, I don't remember being more interested in these last few weeks. The 4 team playoff may have its critics but it is a hell of a lot better that the BCS. Big games all over today and conundrums. TCU is 4. Baylor is 7. Baylor beat TCU and will be the Big 12 champ when they both win out. Baylor gets nothing? Nebraska is way behind the pack. Do they get in as a 1 loss Big 10 champ? Or is the Big 10 on the outside waiting for another conference to implode? Can the police keep FSU players out of jail long enough to get in? Could a 1 loss (to Alabama) Miss St. team get in if Alabama wins out? Good football games today fellas.
Bama fans hope so. But Bama will lose 1 more maybe 2 more if all goes well,{Sorry , I forgot the money calls . } to be a good playoff we need the conference Champs to be paired off like in basketball . That is if you want the real champoinship game . Other wise it is set by the few who decide which 4 teams are to be in . Oh about Big games , not many out of the SEC .
Don't see Gumps in it this year (God willing). I think they go down to either moo u or the war chickens (or both). Something of beauty would be the war chickens losing to the dogs today, moo u beating the gumps today, and then the war chickens win the iron bowl. To the point though I agree the playoffs are WAY better than the cluster that was the BCS. I would have to say it is only the start. Frankly I think this thing needs to be 8 teams. What would be sweet is if the top 4 (assuming these teams have to play conference champs and win said conference champs) get a bye week, similar to the pro style playoffs. This would make the regular season still mean a ton. It is a start but I think it needs some tweaking.
I like Miss St's play this year. They have been decisive. However, have they played past their level of composure? Will they be too tight today? They have never been in this situation before. The Alabama schools have but they each have the tougher road with AU facing Georgia and Bama and the gumps facing Miss St. and AU.
Might be closer than moo u likes but I think they get the win. Bunch of senior/junior players on that team. This kind of looks like one of those "teams of destiny" (makes me cringe cuz I hate that saying) but things are falling together for these guys. Short answer yes
They have to let their nuts drop at some point so why not against Bama. They better get it this year because I think Miss State won't be a factor for another long stretch
Most everyone is picking Wisconsin to beat Nebraska. I think you meant FSU vs UF. And just strictly my opinion, but I don't see a scenario where the SEC gets 2 teams.
