SOS was included but not double accounted for with a separate metric. It was used in some polls used in BCS formula and in the human raking element. I think a BCS formula should be used to determine the top 4 or whatever number of teams you want to include. Going back to a broken wheel we left years ago just seems odd to me. The BCS worked for the most part the old ways got it wrong more than the BCS did.
i know. the current top 4 teams should exclude any team that has a loss. the losses MATTER even if its alabama. thats why its decided on the field. its not who we thought was best last weekend. or the last two. its the entire year. bama lost at home to ole miss. ole miss is better than you by scoreboard. and they lost to memphis (who is pretty good btw). florida is playing better based on common opponents since they rolled ole miss. they looked mediocre vs UT just like you did. and rolled UGA. didnt yall beat UT by a couple points your last game. so youre playing the best right now? you mean best since your loss at home and your last game barely beating UT in BDS. if LSU loses to bama, LSU will not be in the top 4 the following week and wont sniff it again. actually we might sniff it but will never quite make it. which given the current media bama group-think, a win or loss shouldnt change our ranking more than one or two spots. but we know who gets the mulligan in this scenario. it aint us. so save me the rationalization of this nonsense. because thats all it is.
Just because they are in the top 4 now, doesn't mean they will stay there. Look what happened with the Big 12 teams last year. I think Bama is gonna have to win the SEC to get into the playoff. IMO, LSU, Bama, and Florida are the 3 with a shot. If a 2 loss Ole Miss wins the SEC, the SEC will likely be unrepresented in the playoff, unless other conference champs have 2 losses. I know you are thinking of 2011, but this is a different system.
The only way to eliminate Bama this weekend is if LSU utterly destroys them. If Alabama loses, by a slim margin, and let's say Ohio State, Baylor, TCU, Okie St, MSU all lose before the year is over, they will put Alabama back in the top 4.
I'm thinking of today. Try to keep up. IVe said specifically it's about what's earned this year. So not only are you wrong because of some fan bullshit from 11 that's in your head I'm saying the exact opposite. I dont care where they end up. I'm talking about who belongs where today. Actually I do but thats not the crux of my discussion.
It's not worth the energy. NCAA chose to do playoff in stupid way because a) they stupid or b) they love money. Pitching a bitch about mid season polls ain't worth it.
