Watching the Aggie/KState game and it's just totally stupid. Probably the worst set of rules in organized sport. I'd like to see what the NFL adopted for the playoffs. Score 3, the other team has a shot. Score 6, the game is over.
Or move the starting line to the 40 yard line. Starting in field goal position is just dumb. If a team hasn't been in the endzone all game, why give them such great starting field position in OT? It's a cheap TD/FG and it counts the same as a normal one.
I'd take that over what we have now. Rather see a kickoff and special teams involved. All 3 phases participate.
By the way, Texas A&M has lost 4 games this year in which they held a 10+ point lead in the 2nd half. Ouch. They were leading by 10 halfway in the 4th quarter.
You still have the kicking game involved but I don't like how a coin toss can determine who wins in the NFL OT. Whoever gets the ball first ALWAYS has the advantage. If a team scores on the opening kickoff in the NFL OT and wins, only 1 phase of the game is involved
I've always liked the overtime rule,... though I really like LSUTyga73's idea about starting at the 40 Note: fang, you're new like me, advice: Check the # of posts by a member, and how long they have been a member.
