I like the Auburn matchup, and said MSU was fairly even. Personally, it's a bit of a joke that Bama & Colorado had a chance at a winning season... but maybe that is a fitting opponent. Either way, my comments are more centered around Hawaii, Michigan, and even OSU (due to locale). I was just wondering whether you guys see this year as a bit more favorable than most. Thinking back, I remember Georgia getting WVU, who was then considered somewhat of a questionable opponent. Then there's LSU getting Notre Dame. Has that just been bad luck recently? Or does the SEC have some strange curse to get weaker opponents when they send BCS at-large teams?
of course if the obvious were stated (yes virginia, the SEC is that much stronger) then arrogance would rear it's ugly head.
No luck involved. Top tier teams in the SEC are just superior to other conferences. Thus making their opponents look weaker . The BCS bowl has the pick of opponent, sometimes by the time that particular bowl has its pick it has to take what is remaining. But look at Rose Bowl, they could've taken UGA to play the condoms but opted to take a 3 loss Big 10 team. Now that I think about it. It's not the SEC schools getting weak opponents but just maybe it's because Big 10 teams are finding out that their top tier teams do not match up well against teams from other conferences.:thumb: :LSU231: :geauxtige :crystal: :crystal: :helmet:

Well, if you go by where the teams finished in their conference: (used conference record for conf. with 2 divisions) In only the Outback bowl did the SEC send a higher seed from it's conference than the opponent did (and one "tie"). This happens every year, yet people bash the SEC for not sweeping their bowls. Not only that, but (some) Big Ten supporters use this as "proof" that this SEC is over-rated.
