Yup... and Michigan State, who was 3-5 in conference (only Minnesota had a worse record) had to play Boston College, who made it to the ACC title game. such is life.
Well, Air Force lost today but the Mountain West didn't play in any big bowl games. It's hard to include them if these stats are to be taken seriously.

SEC fans, is this year's bowl schedule "down" in 07-08? It seems strange to me that such a highly ranked & popular conference is matched up with such a lopsided schedule. I guess I'm used to lousy big ten teams (with decent 'names') being matched up with some still dangerous teams (MSU-#14 BC, IU-OkSU), and the higher end teams facing teams possibly above their caliber (ILL-USC). I figured the same would be true for the SEC. Is this an exception to the rule this year? MSU vs UCF... pretty even matchup, maybe edge to MSU. Auburn vs Clemson... fairly even matchup, other than coaching. Alabama vs 6-6 Colorado... the embarrassing opponent which cost OU a title berth Kentucky vs FSU... wallowing in mediocrity for years, meager opponent before the scandal. Florida vs Michigan... you could not handpick a worse opponent for UM. Maybe last year's UF team with a D. Tenn vs Wisconsin... SEC CG runner-up vs b10 4th place team. Equal at worst. Georgia vs Hawaii... they limped thru a horrendous schedule. LSU vs OSU... if some SEC fans are right, this is another mismatch. Even if they're wrong, you're at home. The lone exception: Arky vs Mizzou. Is this a normal lineup for the SEC? I seem to remember better balance in past years, but obviously you guys would know better than I. If you disagree, feel free to argue your case. To me, I would like to see a lot more challenging matchups for the SEC teams, especially UGA, or lower-end teams with bowl appeal (Bama).
MSU vs UCF......................10-3 Auburn vs Clemson.............23-20 OT Alabama vs 6-6 Colorado.....30-24 Kentucky vs FSU................35-28 How much better can you want? Any better and we could be 0-4. Not to mention we could well be 2-4 in tommorrow's games and I think Hawaii will be closer than most are expecting.
