They probably won't win it all because of FT and 3PT%, but they have played tough teams, and you have to credit JC for admitting they have a crappy conference. They mixed in the alloted amount of OOC teams in-conference to up the competition. In all reality, playing Houston, UAB, and Tulane mixed in with Gonzaga, Tennessee, and the lower teams come pretty close to a normal schedule -- or as close as they can get. Oklahoma UCONN Southern Cal Georgetown Cincy Arizona Gonzaga Tennessee That is one hell of an OOC schedule.
i didn't say they can't beat tough teams. and I didn't say they didn't have a good OOC schedule. I said that after playing crap for so long, the speed of the game will be too intense once it picks back up. 2-3 months in a row of playing S. Miss and Tulane will make playing UNC look like playing the dream team. I know they're real good. I'm not one of those who thinks all mid majors are garbage.
I know that and didnt imply any of the other remarks you made, and that is why I was telling you they mixed the tough teams in later in the year so they weren't playing all crappy teams down the stretch. It will hurt them, but it is not as bad as it seems.
UAB is barely holding on. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose by 10. Then again UAB seems to pull these big wins out of nowhere. Auburn won at Ole Miss today. What a collapse by Kennedy and company lately. Erin Andrews on TV for the next two hours on ESPN.
They put a beatdown on Va Tech today with no Lawson, Frasor, Thompson, and an injured Hansbrough and Ginyard. And Green had the flu. That is just impressive.
They got five 5*s in a WEEK earlier this year. Plus they are taking one more in '09, who will be a five star.
Wow! What a win by Memphis. I wish they would have gone down but at least they earned it. And the two teams portrayed Memphis and Birmingham perfectly after the game.
