If LSU keeps winning, we will shoot up the rankings. They may have been wrong with their preseason rankings. However, they aren't going to have a knee-jerk reaction and completely rearrange the rankings. I don't think LSU can play the "no respect" card when it comes to baseball. FWIW I think this team is super-talented (but young). The last recruiting class was insanely good. Cal St. Fullerton could show us what we really have this year.
I don't really have a problem with the rankings at this point. Much of what goes into it is speculation on where you'll be in 6-8 weeks. Given we play in the SEC, where anywhere from 6-8 teams are gonna make the regionals, and we lost a lot of skill players, either graduating or being drafted, plus half of our pitching staff has had to have TJ surgery, they aren't real sure just how good we will be. As has been mentioned, just keep winning and all will take care of itself.
This is a good response. I asked a similar question last year. From my understanding and how I view baseball, it is much more in-depth in terms of grading teams rather than football. Only other sport I watch so the only thing I can compare too.... From everything I read, LSU has a lot of ?'s this year on the team.. Give the team a good 6 weeks and I think us fans and voters will have a real good understanding of exactly what this LSU team can do..
You don't think UConn, Oregon and Baylor don't have a lot of questions? Gimme a break. LSU has the skins on the wall and doesn't deserve to be ranked 20th and behind those clodhoppers at ANY point in the season.
I do not follow those teams so I couldnt tell you.. However, it doesnt matter if LSU wins, they will move up...Simple as that. I also do not believe it is a "respect factor". I just think that they had some pre-season rankings and are keeping a few teams high based on those rankings. We cant really gauge a team in 1 series alone. We have no way of saying that a team 3-0 is any better than a team 2-1 or 1-2... Just my 2 cents....
