Regardless of what happens later this year, we (LSU fans) need to own Omaha for this year's CWS! This is the final year at Rosenblatt and the national audience watching needs to see purple and gold even if the team happens to come up short. Make your plans now. I'm already looking at my schedule as I want to be there again before it's torn down. It's special when the Tigers are in Omaha but I believe the people there really appreciate the fact our fans attend even on the rare occasion the team isn't there. Don't wait until the Regionals or Supers to make your plans. '91 :tigbas: '93 :tigbas: '96 :tigbas: '97 :tigbas: '00 :tigbas: '09
come on. you know im not a pessimist with baseball. im a realist and i believe in this team, but i believe to get through the grind of the sec tourney, regionals, and supers, we need all arms healthy. and if not, its not gonna be doomsday of 6th in the sec. its gonna be more like a heart break of losing a tourney final. and if we make it past those three tourneys without all arms, then there is still a chance of a repeat without everyone. hell, the way they spread out the cws over two weeks now, a pitching staff gets more rest there than the tourneys leading up to it! pretty much any team needs all their arms healthy to get through tourney time. not just lsu.
Ok. Just to clarify. I DO NOT think LSU ends up sixth. I am yanking SF's chain. But I do think some young guns need to break out.
i know that! listen very carefully: what i am saying is how far we go depends on the health of the pitchers. and that we will go a lot further with healthy arms imo. but that if we could get through the gauntlet of tourneys without all arms, which im not convinced we could, but IF IF IF we could, the cws is actually a bit easier than the tourneys on pitching imo, because of the way it is spread out over so many days now. there is much more chance for pitchers to rest during the cws than during the conf tourney, regionals, or supers. i am a realist. not a sunshine pumper nor a negatiger. say it with me..... r e a l i s t. if you even think i am unrealistic when it comes to baseball, or even football, you havent been paying attention to what i say for the past five years. but then again, that would be typical male behavior so i shouldnt be surprised.
