i agree that mainieri is good at making adjustments. however, sec play starts this weekend! sec play is not something we have a lot of time to get the kinks worked out for. its here. and as far as the rankings, im just more frustrated by bba's seemingly inconsistency this year. but if this is a fluke series, and not what this team will be like without ranaudo, we are ok. and hopefully we will have ranaudo.
Ranaudo, Ross then Bourgeois. Bertuccini and Bradshaw in relief and Matty to close. Take 2 of 3 and let the rooks get some work during the week. It's all good.
Agreed - but you need 4 starters to get 3 and 5 relievers to get 3 and 3 closers to get 2. It's all about depth, especially in SEC play and in the Regionals and beyond. I'm just worried we're seeing pretty much what we got. And there's not enough depth to get us through the Regionals in my opinion. Maybe not enough to even get to the Regionals. Nothing says that won't improve drastically in the coming weeks, though. Especially if Ranaudo really is on the mend, and Matulis gets well soon also.
we definitely need all the arms healthy to make any kind of run to omaha. and another arm we are missing, but not a damned thing we can do about it..... chad jones. i was really looking forward to see him develop further as a pitcher. good luck to him, but boy, is he missed in baseball!
I just hope he can find the right combination and that Ranaudo is OK and will be able to contribute soon. It is a long season and dropping a series before we start the SEC games could help the team's focus and hopefully their performance. Also remember that the team was pretty busy over the last 10 days. ldskule:
As you and I discussed before, it is obvious that it is time to start the can CPM chants. We have lost 2 games, at this pace we are going to lose over 8 games this season, that just isn’t going to cut it. Of course the sky is falling and it is time to make a change. You and I both know that the likelihood that CPM will get this team to win another CWS is very slim, and now given that we are minus our Ace pitcher with only scrubs left to carry the team there is no way. Of course it is his fault for not recruiting well enough to be prepared for this situation and for not coaching the players up well enough to cover us in this situation. I think it is time to hang up on this season and hope for a better season next yr with a new coach. :insane:
