[/FONT] The remaining members of the 2008 Hall of Fame class are [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Steve Arlin[/FONT], pitcher, Ohio State; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Eddie Bane[/FONT], pitcher, Arizona State; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Floyd Bannister[/FONT], pitcher, Arizona State; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Neal Heaton[/FONT], pitcher, Miami; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Burt Hoot[/FONT][FONT=Times New Roman PS MT,Times New Roman PS MT]o[/FONT][FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]n[/FONT], pitcher, Texas; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Dick Howser[/FONT], shortstop and coach, Florida State; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Ben McDonald[/FONT], pitcher, Louisiana State; [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Greg Swindell[/FONT], pitcher, Texas; and [FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Gary Ward[/FONT], coach, Oklahoma State and New Mexico State. Ben McDonald[FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman], who pitched at LSU from 1987 to 1989, set an LSU career mark for strikeouts with 373 and set several Southeastern Conference records, including single-season strikeouts (202) and consecutive scoreless innings (44.2). He was a two-time All-American and a 1988 Olympic gold medalist. He also lettered as an LSU basketball player. [/FONT] The 2008 inductees will be honored on July 4 as part of the College Baseball Foundation’s annual celebration of both the past and present of college baseball from July 2 through July 4 in Lubbock.
