    Which state?

Either way, not going to happen. Moving away from "hidden" costs is the trend of current academia. The board of regents in most states would be very upset with such legislation.

I don't think it'll do much for football, too many required players to make it a profitable endeavor at a compensation level that would actually sway kids, but this is a nightmare for basketball parity. Do you think Zion Williams would have gone to Duke if he could have had a shoe deal at Oregon? What about Anthony Davis? Kevin Durant? Other clear as day superstars in the making I can't remember?

Its girls basketball, it will never be profitable because at the end of the day the only people that really care are related to someone on the court.

The WNBA would have died the same year that wretched thing was launched had the NBA not kept it alive. Still holds today. That thing should have been taken behind the barn and put down long long ago.

It's already a business...a huge one. The only ones that DON'T profit are the players.

Personally, I think the impact of this is overstated. I can think of a handful of athletes over the past 10 years in college that would be big enough for a company like Nike to want to sign while in college. Zion.....not sure who else. If a guy ends up the #1 overall pick in the NFL, yeah, Nike would look at them, but not while they are in school. Joe Burrow is simply not a big enough celebrity yet for a company like Nike to sign at this point. Tua isn't either. Now, some local businesses might wanna get a kid in so they can make some money, but that's small and local.

But it will allow Joe Burrow to make money off of "Burrow for Heisman" t-shirts instead of some money grubbing "fan."

Not allowing someone to profit off their own likeness and image is un-American

I've been watching women's college bball for three years, it's fantastic, very strategic, super competitive, and very very fun,.. and there's no, one and done's, you get to watch your players for four years,.. there's no incentive to leave early, the wnba doesn't pay shit, so that's a good thing.....

.... girl's college bball will be ruined soon by transgenders,.. then it should die

the sport loses money, college and pros, it's bigger and different in Europe,.. but Nike will make money, promoting it and selling products,.. selling stuff to parents of little girls alone will be profitable. Sabrina the Duck has her degree, when the bball season is over, Nike's marketing campaign will begin, good timing because the Olympics are coming

Yeah I don't think this is a huge deal, or maybe it is. All I know is the kids have every right to profit from their likeness. And if EA is making millions off of them, they should get a cut. But I am sure EA will stop making NCAA games all together than pay out to athletes.

It will be Lego football, with the purple and gold tigres.

years ago EA quit making, "NCAA Football", the best game ever, because of this issue,.. the kids had prestige, glory and fame from being in that game, but the greedy kids killed it, and now they have nothing.

Why is it just the kids who are greedy? EA Sports is a billion dollar corporation who made millions by using the kids likeness without their permission or authorization. How would you feel if somebody made a lot of money from your likeness and didn't pay you anything? If some company used the likeness and images of some movie or rock star or even a professional athlete without paying them they would open themselves up to a huge lawsuit that they would lose.

EA stopped,.. the kids got nothing,.. the best football game ever is no more,.. the end result was,.. company/lose, kids/lose, fans/lose,.. because a NFL washout hired a lawyer
