Your book isn't necessarily reflective of the bigger picture. It's not deflection when the examples of athlete privilege are all over the place. I can provide dozens of examples of sentencing inequality when it comes to athletes of all races. And Brock Turner did have to register as a sex offender. Exactly. Which is why my comments had nothing to do with "hating" black protests. I'll call out Megan Rapinoe for taking a knee for the exact same issue. Jackie Robinson endured a lifelong battle of racism. His life is so far removed from Kapernick, I find it difficult to even compare the two other than their chosen protest. The country was different then. And again with Jesse Owens, just a completely different time and era in this country. How is Kapernick's attitude going to change what has already happened? How does wearing pig police socks going to help? How does he purport to have any real discussion when he's engaging in the same behavior as the people to whom he's trying to protest against? I appreciate his service as well as the sacrifices of your family. I've already said he can protest what he chooses to. I haven't said injustice doesn't exist. I just can't take him seriously when the decades-long injustices of spousal abuse perpetrated by teammates and ignored by the NFL, apparently haven't bothered him, nor has it kept him out of the sexual abuser category. There was no lecture. IMO, when you attempt to cast emotion in my posts when it doesn't exist, it's a tactic that people use rather than focus on the issue. It's also something typically thrown at women.....claims that we are overwrought, emotional, hysterical, etc. Now go on and tell me where I tried or even implied that you can't or shouldn't say what you want or believe?
Anyone know if these assholes took a knee today? Being its Septemeber 11th you would think these dudes would have enough respect to stand and pledge allegiance. I'm disappointed in Eric Reed, I hope he stood today.
49'ers play tonight MNF there were a few that did their little stuff to make an ass out of themselves. Such pieces of shit. Yet they wonder why there are issues.
I don't understand what the flag has to do with anything. That flag represents freedom, why protest freedom. Just makes no sense to me.
And that is exactly it. Now they have entire HS teams taking a knee. The part that irks me is it is so disrespectful. Their argument or "protest" has some merit and it is a discussion that needs to take place. They could have found a better way.
If you want to protest something how about go take a knee on the Southside of Chicago, go to a courthouse and take a knee in front of some dead beat dads or gangs.
Most linked arms. Marcus Peters went old school with the raised fist....but he was grabbing his junk with the other, so... 4 Dolphins took the knee. With a cop and a Marine right in front of them. Despite an imminent fine, Avery Williamson wore patriotic cleats. It's going to cost him $6k but a police officer's association has said they will pony it up. Sad how the No Fun League of uniformity was willing to fine players who DIDN'T wear pink last year but they are all about personal expression in other ways.
