Yeah, but then the Gamecock fans wouldn't have as much to complain about. I like Tigerpub's explanation.
I know, I was defending the ref on that play. quote=Tygrr;839785] Out of curiosity, where'd you hear that lots of offenses run plays like that?[/quote] I've seen it happen many times. The TE may not always get the ball, but it is not uncommon for a guy to run a crossing pattern where the ref gets in the way. It's actually a pretty smart play. He is considered to be part of the field of play, use him to your advantage if you can.
I think so, too. And when a 20-year-old weighing 220 pounds in full gear turns to run into his 40-year old unpadded body, he instinctively threw a shoulder up to protect himself. I still can't believe that Garcia went down from it. The ref never lost his balance.
Shouldn't the real issue be that their new young stud QB got dropped by a 50+yr old ref w/ no pads... Anyways, if the ref was really on the take, or was "in on something", the proper technique would have been to wrap up the ball runner! :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
Yeah, totally ridiculous. I can only imagine what South Carolina fans were saying. Does he have any eligibility left?
its kind of a bad angle to watch, Garcia clearly cuts back towards the ref and he definitely wasn't expecting it.
