Hmm... this reminds me of a certain Buffalo Wild Wings commercial
Yeah, they said Vandy had an intellectual advantage on them and they should be forced to lower admission standards.
I'm not siding with the Gamecocks and I'm not saying there wasn't ref interference on both sides, but a ref accidentally being in the way(setting a pick) and that ref lowering his shoulder into Garcia are two different things. I simply don't know what to say about that video, how does one explain that away? IMO, their beef is legit. In the whole scheme of it, it probably didn't make a difference in outcome, but I've never seen anything like that.
That's only the second time I saw an official make a tackle. The first was in a crucial play in a Saints game where the official (Triplett) tackled Joe Horn deep before he could catch a game-clinching TD.
I figured it out. The ref is actually Woody Hayes.
I remember the play you're referring to. It was more of a accidental collision between horn and the ref. It was robbery.
That still doesn't make the ref at fault. Out of curiosity, where'd you hear that lots of offenses run plays like that?
It looked to me like the ref was going to try to go the backside of the play past Garcia. Garcia suddenly cut toward him. He put his arms out just prior to Garcia's cut and, in effect, tackled him:huh:. If Garcia doesn't slow down and cuts further up, the ref would have gotten behind him. Still, the funniest ref "play" I have ever seen. Goofy, too.:insane:
