Said on his show this morning that the Ref that smoked garcia should be fired, and he is claiming that "the fix is in" and South Carolina was hosed. And a few USC fans called in and said that that play changed the momentum of the game. hmmmmm, didnt the refs pretty much hand USC a touchdown on a 4th and goal on that same drive?
He didn't say the fix was in, and even said "I'm not saying this guy had money on the game" He did say that there is no defending that ref (which I agree with)
Of course there is no defending the ref, but it didn't change the outcome of the game one bit. For one, Garcia would've been tackled approx. 2 seconds later, and for two, they scored anyway. Everyone's forgetting the ref setting a pick on Sheppard earlier in the game to spring their TE Cook on one of their many crossing routes.
yeah, thanks. I couldn't remember. They had a lot of open crossing routes, thanks in part to illegal picks from both WRs and refs....
Well, they complained about a number of things last year too. It could be, perhaps, that they are sore losers. Hmmm. All things considered, though, it did appear that he was going to be tackled regardless, but, you never know. You can't spend your life picking apart all the little things.
after he said " i didnt say the fix was in" he came back after the commercail break and said "the fix was in or something".
In case you're wondering what this is, here is the play. If I hadn't seen it myself, I would think the video had been tampered with. The "best" spin you can put on that is that the ref was trying to "hop" back out of the way and didn't quite make it. I have no clue.
He was making a joke about it. He said if he did that on purpose he should probably be fired. It is pretty funny to watch though.
