You're right, it's not a hub and so most people don't spend a lot of time there and the amenities found in the hubs aren't necessary.

I have to disagree with the ease of baggage claim. It's a short easy walk, sure, but once you're there it's a crap shoot on where your bags are coming out and, because it's such a short walk, it seems to take forever to get bags. Much better, though, than Cincinnati, for example, which has a marathon hike to baggage claim past an entirely shuttered concourse.

Statistically, he's right. But, most of the the murders are gang or drug related, and while there are notable exceptions, very rarely are the everyday people, or even rarer, tourist affected by them.

Where he's wrong is when he says utter bullsh!t, like the area around the Superdome is scary at night. Hello, it's the CBD, its dead at night because all of the professional people are gone home. He also says he doesn't understand why N.O. is hosting all of these major events and infers that it's some sort of post Katrina charity. Again, nonsense. They're getting these events because they have the infrastructure, i.e. Hotel rooms, and they KNOW HOW to host. Even before Katrina, the city had hosted more Super Bowls then any other. There's a reason for that. The NFL, like any other business, is about making money, so it has to be to THEIR (the NFL's) benefit for them to continually award it to the city, not the other way around. Not only that, but the city knows that Big Events and tourism are their bread and butter, so the NOPD is gonna go all out to make sure that industry is protected. Ask any tourist that comes here for a big event and nearly all of them will say they have a good time and never felt unsafe.

Lastly, Colon Cowturd is a hack. He doesn't care if you like or hate him, as long as you listen to his show, so he says controversial things to achieve that goal. He does not have the ability to carry his show on talent alone, so he stirs the pot to achieve his ratings. H-A-C-K.

Hotels. We have enough for Mardis Gras. Is that not enough for the pro bowl?
Are you saying more people come to Mardi Gras then the pro bowl?
Yes, and it's not even close. Plus, they stay longer too. I have to think this is not a serious question
As to location, NOLA is in the middle of the country. Makes perfect sense. HI is the venue that is hard to get to. It is 2400 miles to the CLOSEST NFL city (Los Angeles), whereas NOLA is 2400 miles from the FARTHEST NFL city (Seattle).
    what is wrong with Dallas?
I think a better question is, why do you want NFL and tourism dollars that a big event would bring to go to a city other than the one you live in? It's as if you think that N.O. doesn't deserve to host because of a murder problem that almost never touches a tourist.

    Additionally,

You really have some f'd up views of the place you call home. Have a little pride and look to accentuate the positive and maybe get out and volunteer to help bring the negative parts up.

You said to refute what Cow*ass said. I did. So there. Have some pride in where you live or STFU.

yep, guess so. Since I lived in Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina I can compare these states to Louisiana and I can say without a doubt I would rather live in any of the above 3 states. Sorry, there is no pride when you go visit some place and they say how can you live in such a filthy dirty city with murder all around. I can't debate that. Yeah, we have the best food ever but I would never raise my children and am damn glad my Godchildren aren't being raised here.

If you wanted pride in where you live you would address the murder rate but you won't and why sheriffs make money off of inmates but you won't. That is something to be proud of right there.

Bar none New Orleans is the best place to have a Super Bowl or any major event because you can walk to everthing you need- the event itself, bars, restaurant, tourist attractions and hotel that are all world class or budget friendly. No need to rent a car or a take a cab, no other city can say that. One more thing, what airport rocks? I've been to many airports and they all suck, some just less than others.
