It not all about wins and losses. I can accept losses. I can't accept the defensive calls that blow several games in a row. I can't accept a team that is outcoached as much as LSU has been the last two years. I also can't accept a coach that makes time management mishaps in most games. I can't accept a team that looks lost, with a pathetic gameplan 3 out of 5 games. They then get in a deep hole in two of them. If that is good coaching to you then fine.

This and the fact that teams that won or tied the first game are something like 6 and 24 in bowl rematches. Florida tied FSU and then proceeded to destroy them in New Orleans for the National Championship. It happens.

Catharsis. It is easier to release irrational emotions on a single object by directing them at a coach. Often, the coaches allows this to happen by saying "I did not have the team prepared", "I have to do a better job of coaching next game", etc...

I give them two years. The juniors on this team are not NFL draftable so they will be returning next year to fill the weak spot in the rotation. It is crazy to say that if you are a senior on LSU then you are not a very good player.

    Don't count on it.

Claiborne, Simon, Ford and a whole list of others say differently.

I was talking about the present. Not the good ole days when good players stuck around and tried win something. Will there ever be, a Glenn Dorsey, for me, to see, again.

Sure if you are around in another 30 or so years.

ALL L.S.U. Fans/Alums that don't have their heads buried in the sand, pump sunshine, wave pom poms 24-7 or suffer from "See No Evil-Hear No Evil-Speak No Evil" Syndrome realize this to be true. Miles wins just enough to keep the Fan Base at bay, but will always have those few games every year that are totally dysfunctional where he doesn't have the team prepared and/or will be one of his Game Management disasters.

I see all sides of this and go back and forth between these viewpoints.

    1. Is it coaching? Miles has one some big ones and lost some big ones.
    2. Is it the players? Missed assignments, dropped passes, not seeing a wide-open receiver all seem to be a player issues, but could be somewhat attributable to coaching.
    3. Is it a combination of 1 and 2? Probably this more than anything.

My frustration with Miles is that there seems to be at least one seemingly boneheaded decision that costs us a game every year: the Malveto experiment, a clock issue, not giving JL a shot during the NCG and, this year, waiting to put BH into the Moo-state game with only three and a half minutes to go. It seems that in every one of these situations, the collective fanbase was screaming for change and Miles failed to make the change or waited too long to make it.

Love him to death but getting increasingly frustrated as each year goes by.

I'm hoping that BH's starting inspires the entire team to up their game and we do what Auburn did last year.

I can be delusionally optimistic with the best of them.

I'm fan of Miles the man. I appreciate his genuine love for LSU and his players. Likewise, the players seem to genuinely like Miles. I like when he is coaching with Lesticles. I just feel he has gotten too conservative. I also feel that he lost his mojo because of it. The kids are not getting the coaching it appears they once were. I hope he turns it around because that means LSU is contending once again. I also like Miles the man.
