And there's the rub. But for Saban, I don't think we would be as angry and frustrated as we are. I'm not saying we'd be okay consistently losing to Bama (or any team for that matter), but let's face it, most of us hate the little dictator. It goes back to "of all the teams he had to go to, why did it have to be Bama..."
Are you so sure that Saban isn't the true defensive coordinator? Muschamp also looked like a world-beater when he was Saban's "defensive coordinator."
I don't wish to kiss your grits, but this is a pussy of a post. Have some balls, man. "Lost interest?" Whatever...
It is really hard to adjust when the other team has the ball twice as long and twice as many plays. The perfect storm of how to lose a football game. It happens to every team at some point. I watched UF almost lose to Vandy, TCU get smoked, Mich. State choke away the game and a few weeks ago Bama get beat by Ole Miss. What is actually more depressing to me than losing a game to a top four team at their stadium is the sheer doom and gloom of our fan base.
I couldn't agree with you more. Our asses were beat from one end of Bryant Denny to the other, and it sucked, for sure. It especially sucked for the fans because we HATE to lose to Bama. Now, many of our fans expect the players to mail it in for the rest of the year when we have only lost one game. These guys' lives revolve around LSU football. I don't believe they will just concede the rest of the year because they lost a game. Hell, we have @lsutiga whining about "not watching another game" and crap like that. GTFO with that nonsense.
That's part of the reason they did have the ball twice as long and run twice as many plays, they never adjusted from something that definitely wasn't working to anything that might. That's the perfect recipe to guarantee that your opponent has the ball more. You have to at least try to do something different. It's hard to do anything when you're getting your ass kicked, but you don't just bend over and take it.
It is such bullshit. The first play from scrimmage in the second half was a pass that was slightly overthrown, short armed by a receiver and intercepted. Not a freaking run up the middle. There were also sacks. Nirvana says we could throw on them all day, but there was zero time for either running or passing. THAT is why they had the ball so much. Depth did play a huge part in this game.
